Written by Matt Langtree
Tuesday, 04 February 2014 21:17

2012-logo-fim-BLANCAs we start to put together the final planning and logistics for the event together we now need a number of volunteers to give up a bit of time to ensure that this event starts off the 2014 Trial World Championships season in a spectacular fashion and that all our spectators have a fantastic experience over the weekend. All volunteers are covered by insurance for the event but the requirement is that they be a minimum of 16 years of age.

Volunteer jobs include:

  • Information Booths (Thursday – Sunday)
  • Merchandise Sales – (Friday – Sunday)
  • Ticket Sales (Friday only at Bill Woodfull reserve)
  • Podium assistants for the start and scoreboard (Sat & Sun)
  • Score card runners for the end of each lap (Sat & Sun)
  • Podium assistants for the presentation of prizes (Sat & Sun)
  • Paddock coordinator (Thursday & Friday)
  • Practice Area Marshalls (Thursday & Friday)
  • Rubbish (Friday – Sunday) (empty small bins into big skips)
  • Toilets (Friday – Sunday) (top up water and toilet paper)
  • Traffic management (Sat & Sun afternoon)
  • Clean-up post the event (Monday)
  • Office / Admin assistants (Friday – Sunday)

If we have lots of volunteers there can be a roster system so that everyone gets a chance to see part of the event.

[WTC Australia] World Trial shaping up to be bigger and better
Written by Matt Langtree
Tuesday, 04 February 2014 21:00

bigger-and-betterThe 2014 event is shaping up to be even bigger and better than 2012.

Our major sponsor KTM is donating a Freeride 250, which will be won by some lucky spectator for simply buying an entry ticket to the event. Also Jack Field will be strutting his stuff at the ‘Paddock’ over the weekend and of course the ever popular last section will be constructed on the edge of the football field for all to enjoy.

This year we have decided to offer free entry to the ‘Paddock’ (Bill Woodfull Reserve) in the heart of Maldon. This will enable people to enjoy the atmosphere and excitement of the event even if they are unable to visit the main body of competitive sections on Mt Tarrengower.

Keyneton MCC needs our help - 'KMCC Bushfire Fund'
Written by Matt Langtree
Monday, 03 February 2014 21:32

south-australia-firesThe battle to overcome the devastating South Australian bushfires in early January 2014 didn't end when the last embers were extinguished. For more than 20 of the Keyneton Motorcycle Clubs members this is where the battle to rebuild their livelihoods will begin.

Literally hundreds of kilmetres of fences destroyed, hundres of head of stock lost to the fires and thousands of hectares of feed burnt to a cinder, shedding, equipment and houses lost as well!

kmcc-bushfire-press-release-thumbTwo of the paddocks worst hit were the sites of the 2011 Aussies (and 1994/1998 Aussie titles). The landowners have hosted many other KMCC events including every SA Women's cup and Diener/Holmes Sidecar Trophy events since their inception in 2009!

THE KEYNETON MCC IS NOW ON A MISSION! Having never asked the club for anything for using their land over the past 50 odd years, the club is now out to repay the favour and has started the ‘KMCC BUSHFIRE FUND’, with all monies raised to go to help all of our landowners who have taken a huge hit with the fires!

The Keyneton MCC are kicking off a fund with $5000 of its own money.

The KMCC is asking all those who would like to contribute to the fund to contact, in the first instance;
ANDREW WARNEST – This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ; to request the club’s banking details for direct deposit, or where to send donations by post.
