Calling for Observers for the 2015 Australian Titles

We are now just three months out from the Aussie Titles at Pacific Park on 29 & 30 August. As the event approaches we are looking for people who can offer one or two days as Observers, the most important people at any trial.  We will need around 60 people each day to look after sections so the support of the whole community is vital. Volunteers of any experience level are very welcome, but a core of people with some experience will be needed.

Observers will be provided with:

    • Lunch, snacks and water each day
    • Free entry to both days of the trial - whether offering one or two days as Observers
    • Onsite camping at no cost - this opportunity is extended only to riders, officials and volunteers
    • An event t-shirt
    • The best possible view of the event!

Information about the 2015 Championship can be found here: https://aussietitles.wordpress.com

The combined Trials Clubs of NSW appreciate your support as we look forward to a fantastic event in 2015.

Please contact me via email or phone if you are able to help.

Beautiful autumn weather made for a comfortable day for the 84 riders to tackle what was a quite varied terrain course. Sections 1, 2 and 3 were set in a traditional 'scottish style' flowing creek. Section 4 and 5 featured dry rocks, 5 in particular had a very nasty undercut narrow step hit off a kicker 4 - 5 meters away. I could hear Boyds' Honda sing from the bottom of the valley! Sections 6 and 7 had tree roots and more creek, with 8 set on dry logs. Section 9 had some deep water just next to 10 with a twisting climb that required spot-on body positioning on the bike to make grip.

Many thanks to the scorers and the riders who stepped up to help out where required.

Queensland Moto Trials Championship Sup. Regs. and entry forms

LRMTC are running this event at the "Sweet" family's property, located approx. 20 minutes to the west of Stanthorpe. Super-grip granite rock will provide some very interesting sections to challenge the riders for this Sunday/Monday event. With our May 24 QMTS event now done, our comp. secretary is now accepting entries. Click on the above heading to view the PDF document.

There are a couple of ommissions (mistakes) in the regs, would like to verify that A, B, C and Clubperson grades are effectively support classes. Open Solo is for Experts. Intro Junior (7-12 years) is on the white line, Open Junior (13 to 16) is on the blue line of section. As this is a Championship event, there are no one-day licences available.

An extra grade that we are offering that is not in the sup. regs. is Youth, which will be set on the yellow line. Next time I produce Qld titles regs, I may get it right first time. At least I know how to set sections!

Also, to encourage more minders, thier entry fee is $30 for the event. Minders also improve the safety at the events for skills in 'catching' the rider or bike when things don't go quite right. On the entry form, pop the minders details in the 'sidecar' part of the form. Minders have to hold an MA liscence of course.

Australian Open Solo Champion, Kyle Middleton will be competing at this event along with many other current and former Australian Champions in all classes of competition.

With now over 70 entries for this event and the weather ok, all bodes well for an excellent event this Sunday. Will be very interesting to see the riding action from the latest A grade riders to make the step up- Revolution Honda team's Ruben Chadwick and Bradley Bryant guided by the experienced Boyd Willcocks also riding a very special build 300+cc four banger. Mark James (Beta Evo) and me on the EM 5.7 representing the Caldera Moto team will have to put in good performances to be competitive with the latest youth including also Isaac Luft (Sherco) and Jim Reed (Beta Evo). A surprise late entrant for the event is Dominik Wunsch from Czech Republic who demonstrated excellent technique at the recent SQTA event at Toonumbar. Of course, like most Trials events spectator entry is free, just a reminder that there is no catering, so bring your food/drink and take your litter home with you please.  by Richard Kent.
