Bike Trials Direct owner Owen Gwilliam and assistant Rosey White were lucky enough to visit the Monty factory in Barcelona and take a tour earlier this week. Having only recently taken over the importation of Monty bicycles, it was a fantastic opportunity to meet the team and discuss the future of the original biketrials brand in Australia, and globally.

Well the dust has settled and the Australian Rounds of the World Trial Championship has been run and won.

Firstly I would like to say a massive thank you to the Trials Club of Victoria for hosting this event again, and what an extraordinary job they did.

The level of professionalism and organisational skills form such a dedicated, but small group of enthusiastic volunteers was outstanding. Thank you from the whole Australian Trials community.

Alexz Wigg dominates 2014 Glenmaggie Trial
Written by Winesy

Alexz Wigg riding a borrowed Gasgas machine rode a near perfect trial to win the Easter Glenmaggie Trial on 15 points to win from local favourite Tim Coleman on 38 pts.

Dylan Rees also had an impressive ride to 3rd place on 70 points after only returning to trials a few months ago.

Making Alexz Wigg’s ride more impressive was riding a standard Gasgas 250cc machine over approximately 76 sections over 2 days.

Most sections were based using the local river bed and high off-camber slopes with water height quite high compared to previous years.

A few international riders were also present taking the opportunity to keep their skills up before this weekend’s Japan WTC round 3 & 4.

troy poster 2014jpg Page1 1The season is under way in South Australia with the first round of the Sherco Troy Series contested and round 2 fast approaching this weekend. After round 2 of the Sherco TROY Series at Victor Harbour, there is a 3 week break in the action before it hots up big time!

May 18 sees TROY hit the half way point at round 3 of the Sherco TROY Series at Mungeree, home of Team Hogan and the reigning Moto Trials SA 'Event of the Year', and arguably SA's answer to Glenmaggie! A Gas Gas Motos Australia's Junior Development Program coaching/practise day on the Saturday, followed by a famous Hogan Woolshed Dinner on the Saturday night, and finished off with a Hoges inspired loop on the Sunday for the event itself! As usual, camping from Friday until Monday morning allowed and fully catered all weekend - sup regs now available.

Having competed around the State, Country and Globe, it was fantastic to ride a World Trial Championship Round in our own backyard. There is no better opportunity to ride with the Worlds best and learn a bit of technique, bike setup and really step up our own professional approach to the sport.
