Australia has finished just off the podium in fourth place amongst the 16 teams taking part in the Internation Trophy class of the Trial des Nations, held in Andorra on Sunday. The Aussie mens team finished behind class winners Germany who overcame runners up Sweden on the final lap, and the United States.

The Aussie mens team of Colin Zarczynski, Kyle Middleton, Tim Coleman and Chris Bayles finished tied on points with Ireland, and moved ahead of the Irish on a countback of most cleans to secure a great 4th placing, a repeat of the teams 2013 result.

Teams contested two laps of 18 sections, with Sweden taking the early lead ahead of the Germans. Australia was in fifth place behind the USA and Belgium after the first circuit, and just three points ahead of Ireland. As the second and final lap progressed, Germany moved ahead of the Swedes while USA held on to third, while Australia retained their 4th place ranking by the tightest of margins over Ireland, with Belgium sixth and well ahead of New Zealand in a fine seventh.

Spain continued their domination of the world class with a massive margin of victory over Great Britain in second closely followed by France, ahead of Italy and fifth placed Norway, the final team to contest the world division.

Australia has finished in 7th place at the 2014 Womens Trial des Nations in Andorra, which was won on a countback of most cleans by the team for Great Britain who edged out Spain in the countback, with Germany finishing in a strong third place.

A total of 13 nations contested the womens event, in a competition that grows stronger and bigger every year amongst the womens trial riders of the world. Teams travelled from as far as Japan, USA, and New Zealand, making the womens event equal in stature to the mens events which runs the following day.

Although France, Italy and Norway finished ahead of our three rider team of Brooke Lonie, Ina Halls and Kristie McKinnon, Australia did finish as top non-european country, well ahead on points in front of USA in eighth and New Zealand in nineth.

Sunday will see the mens team of Chris Bayles, Tim Coleman, Kyle Middleton and Colin Zarczynski ontest the Trophy des Nations, which comprises the amateur nations, while the pro rider nations such as Spain, England and France contest the higher level World class.

Trial des Nations is GO!!!!!!!!!

Todays opeing day of the Trial des Nations in Saint Julia de Loria in Andorra will see the Australian team of Kristie McKinnon, Brooke Lonie and Ina Halls battle it out with teams from around the world in the 2014 FIM Womens Trial des Nations.

Our riders will face a similar course to yesterdays final round of the individual womens world championship that was held at the same venue high up in the pyrenees mountains, in which all of our riders completed the entire event.

The entire Aussie team are well prepared following their lead up event last week in Spain, and an FIM training camp at high altitude during the week leading into the world national teams championships, before moving up even higher again for base camp adjacent to the parc ferme in the main town of Saint Julia de Loria.

Our girls are on the course right now, we know they will do their best to do us proud, and we wish them the very best of luck for the day.

Logan River Moto-Trials Club (LRMTC) and the Southern Queensland Trials Association (SQTA) are jointly promoting an open invitational trial to be held at the Gap Creek Farm Off Road Motorcycle Park on September 21.  Both clubs have clear mission statements proactively promoting Moto-Trials here in the South East and as a way of fostering this philosophy the event is open to anyone, regardless of your political persuasion, looking for a relaxed yet competitive and inexpensive ride on the weekend.  It is also a great opportunity for any non-affiliate rider who may have been sitting on the fence trying to justify the expense of a first time one off ride to come and have a go for a fraction of the cost.
