Ever thought of riding in Australia’s own World Trial Championship round, the opening round of the 2014 FIM World Trial Championship? Well you can...
Australian riders are encouraged to take part in this exciting event. Here is all the information you need to get started...
A number of changes in the FIM rules since the last Australian WTC have made it more possible for local riders to participate in this years event, which is great news for Australian trials.
Riders must have an FIM competition license, at a cost of $300 for a single event, and do not need to take out FIM level insurance as the event is being held in Australia, saving local riders at least $648, another reason for making the Australian round THE round to ride. Minders and assistants only need their normal MA license for this event.
Entries and license applications must be sent to Motorcycling Australia www.ma.org.au at least three weeks before the event, so there is still plenty of time to get yourself on the start list. Riders will need to pass a doctors medical, all the information is included in the form attached.
The event is run under the FIM rules for trial, which are also attached. Riders should read these carefully to understand the many subtle rules of the world championship, including the no-stop scoring definitions, and the entry fees for riders and minders that will need to be paid on the day of scrutineering, which is the Friday before the event.
The offical supplementary regulations will be posted shortly, these just give the final instrucitons for the weekend, but riders do not need the SR's to send their entires in.
Classes include the FIM Trials World Championship (red line, the highest level), the FIM Trial World Cup (blue line, second hardest line), and the FIM 125cc Trials Cup (green line, the simplest lines in the section). All riders must be 16yrs or older on the day of the trial, and the 125cc class is no longer limited by age.
There will also be the Open International Cup for riders not participating in the whole championship, such as local Aussie riders, which will be conducted over the blue lines for machines greater than 125cc. This is the class and line most suited for Australian riders on machines over 125cc who wish to compete in a one-off round of the championship.
The Motorcycling Australia Trials Commission wishes to encourage local riders to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to compete with the world best trial riders, by entering the Australian round of the FIM Trial World Championship.
