The Aussie Titles day 1 saw a spectacular day of riding and the event organisers have had excellent feedback from riders and spectators.
The event has had plenty of great local media coverage. Friday night news had coverage of Charlotte Cowan from South Australia and Chris Bayles from Tassie doing a spot on Southern Cross news last night and filmed some of the official practice session. Win TV were out today and will have local coverage tonight. The local newspaper The Examiner which will have photos and a report of the event.
"We've had good feedback from people, good comments and credits. It's up there as one of the good ones" said David Catt, Event Coordinator. "Local advertising has been really good, chilli FM did a live broadcast which was a great help. Hopefully everyone heard it today and turn up tomorrow." It has been a fantastic turnout of spectators for day 1 with as many as 800-900 spectators in attendance.
President of the Tasmanian Motorcycle Trials Club Craig Ferral said "Spectator numbers were really good and the gate takings were really strong and we're over the moon with that. The general feedback from everyone has been brilliant. Everyone's impressed with how we've run it and done it."
93 riders are competing this weekend with a large number making the trip from the mainland and even 1 rider from New Zealand. All states and territories were represented this weekend, with the exception of NT.
Open Women's is a class that's hotly contested with the top 4 riders being a shoe in for the Trial des Nations women's team in 2015.
Open Junior is the class to watch tomorrow with 3 riders all on 29 cleans a piece. Ruben Chadwick (QLD), Connor Hogan (SA) and Tom Wager (QLD) all finished the day on equal 1 point.
