Connor Hogan is getting set for a huge season in 2015. Once again Connor will be riding under “Team H” banner in 2015 aboard his brand new 2015 Gas Gas Pro 125cc “Racing” Model. The team have an exciting schedule this season competing not only around Australia but also in Europe. Connor will compete at the 2015 EM Youth Trials Championships. This series is held over 3 rounds; Italy (April 11), Belgium (August 15) & Switzerland (August 22). The series is for riders under the age of 16 as of the 1st January and would be the last year that Connor would be eligible to compete.
Back in Australia the big event of the year that Connor’s main focus will be the Australian Trial Championship which is going to be held in late August at Pacific Park, Connor will be competing in either the Junior or Youth Category. Connor’s season in South Australia will be somewhat disturbed by his trips to Europe which will make it unlikely for him to defend his SA T.R.O.Y Series or
SA “Star” Award. However he intends to compete in the Victorian Moto Trials Series, Queensland Moto Trials Title and the SA Moto Trials Championship.
Connor has scheduled 10 South Australian events, 3 overseas events and 5 interstate events which is going to be a full on season, but hopefully with reward!
Connor has already been in full swing preparing for the upcoming season, spending a lot of time dedicated to conditioning his body off the bike through a fitness program that included joining the local swim club and swimming 3 nights a week (training Monday & Wednesday, competition Friday). He has also done some jogging and cycling on Tuesday & Thursday evenings if not practicing on the motorcycle. On March 1 this year Connor travelled to Bendigo, Victoria for a one-on-one coaching day with British rider Alexz Wigg. Alexz is a former World Youth 125 & World Junior champion and is a full time professional trials rider and competes in the World Pro Championship class.
Connor was lucky enough in late 2014 to be able to attend both the Motorcycling Australia Elite Rider Camp at the Australian Institute of sport in November as well as being selected in to the Motorcycling SA Elite Rider Program where he attended an intensive off bike program in December. With this help and knowledge it has set up Connor for a great season. Brenton, Connor’s father who is also a level two trials coach and Connor’s coach have been working hard training on their property to insure he is fully prepared ahead overseas to take on the World’s best junior trials riders.
The team would like to welcome G.R.O (Global Racing Oil) Lubricant which they will be exclusively running in the GAS GAS this year. Thank you to Phil Whittle from G.R.O.
