I'm just getting started in trials. I've just bought a bike and plan to start riding wearing my enduro gear.
I guess at some point I will want to get some trials specific gear, but haven't been able to find anyone with a showroom here in Melbourne.
Are there any retailers that are recommended for buying gear locally, or do I need to go online?
I would go second hand, but it seems that there's not much on offer.
Appreciate any advice.
Any trials gear retailers in Melbourne ?

The only things you really need (it's subjective, but I think most would agree) is trials boots that are designed with more flex than standard MX boots. The other thing is an open face helmet.
Everything else I wear is MX gear.
I've seen MCAS and AMX Superstore stock the Forma Boulder boots (ring ahead to be certain) but haven't seen other brands and I have never seen any Trials helmets.
You may be better off buying online.

The Hell Team: We are a Trials specific online retailer. I know how hard it is to get Trials Specific gear at a regular Moto shop, so we have a really easy returns/exchange policy.
If you purchase boots or helmet from us, and you find it is not quite right, we will happily exchange, or refund.... and we pay for the postage back to you (as many times as it takes to get your size right).
I have pretty good sizing charts online, and if you need any advice please feel free to call. 02.8424.6400 - I have helped a lot of people get the right gear, and we have a much bigger range than any regular moto shops for Trials stuff.

Re: Any trials gear retailers in Melbourne ?
Thanks for the replies guys.
After hunting around a bit I found that https://motoheaven.com.au in Moorabbin is carrying Forma, Gaerne and Alpinestars trials boots. No helmets though.
I'll probably start with my MX gear and see how I go. Looks like I'll need to go online for a helmet.
