The passing of a Trials Legend, Mark Beechey.

Postby Trialman » Fri Jul 16, 2010 6:48 pm

The Australian Trials Community has lost one of their own.

Mark Beechey lost his battle to cancer early this morning.

We've lost an enthusiastic & dedicated Trials Rider who has competed in all levels of trials, most recently on his immaculate Majesty which he rode like a true champion.

To Denise, Luke, Bec, Charlotte, Norma and the rest of the family, our thoughts are with you during this sad time.

Mark will be sorely missed within the Trials Community and we will continue to keep our feet up in memory of you.

I can't express my sympathy to Mark's family...........

I was fortunate enough to meet and ride with him in his recent years back in the sport. He loved trials and also made ATV racing a sport.

Mark was one of the few that enjoyed riding in my backyard, I wish I had been able to play in the trials course he built in his. True tears for a truely great bloke

I'll miss his set up at Glenmaggie and I think we should keep a spot open for him.

Mark was a passionate Trials rider with a fantastic ability to set up a bike. He found great pleasure in helping those trials riders who were willing to put in the effort. We had some great times camping, training and tinkering with TY's and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I have learnt a little bit of the Beechey finesse he tried to thump into me. I will miss a great friend and training mate.

My deepest sympathy to his family.

Attended the funeral service today. Hundreds of people there, obviously reflective of the number of people Beechey touched in some way. There was a large turnout of trials riders. Clive Halls read a great tribute, recounting the many events they contested together, and their friendship over some 25 years.

Mark was a great bloke, always ready to talk about bikes, always ready with some piece of riding advice, which as Stan and others have mentioned was well-received.

During the service his son Luke quoted his dad recently as saying that this illness was a real "bummer". Which is pretty typical of the optimistic person Mark was, always looking to the positive, or learning, from any situation.

Yes it's a major bummer to have lost him.

My sincerest condolences to his family and friends at this very sad time.

Keith.

Was thinking of Mark today, Im sure there are many others too, that were thinking of him and his family on this sad day.
Thank you Keith for sharing some of the happenings at his service.
He will be missed for many reasons for the many people who were fortunate enough to have met him.

A conversation I still grin about with Mark went something like,

" when we can get these two Majestys together I'll show you what they really can do"!

He replied,

" Are you getting Mick Andrews over to ride yours"

He was a great bloke alright.
