A fantastic series has concluded with a tough trial held at Eden Valley,
site of two previous Australian Championships.
Scott Irrgang won his first A Grade Trials Championship keeping first round
winner Jarrod Barwick to second place.
John Harry had a off day slipping to forth place but still won the B Grade Championship
20 points clear of Peter Arnold with Daren Diener third.
Rookies Grant Stephen and Matthew Stanley had a great year taking the top two
places in C Grade with Steve Fraser in third place, only 2 points clear of David
Martin.
In the Battle for the Greybeard title, Malcolm McKenzie came from behind to
overcome Colin Behn with Dominique Brissoni third.
Australian Sidecar Champions Todd Kuerschner and Steve Sparkes retained their
South Australian Championship with 4 wins from 5 starts. Chris Schultz with
Stuart Gerhardy having stepped up from B Grade with the acquisition of a new
outfit managed a heat win with just their second trial on their new machine
and finishing second with the team of Ben Zander and John Wilsch taking third
after a return from a season break.
Joel Whitburn won the most closely contested Junior title of recent times ahead
of Andrew Baker followed by Drew Hender. Andrew won the first two heats with
Joel winning the final three rounds. Drew achieved two second places and a hat
trick of thirds.
