Hi George.
You need to hold the clutch hub in place to loosen the nut. I bought a tool to do this, it's basically a setof vice-grips with long thun jaws that have a 90 degree bend at the end, so the part at the end can fit into the grooves in the hub and hold it. Don't use pry bars to jam the inner and outer hubs together- I heard of someone doing that on a Ducati and breaking the outer hub. Very expensive.

The usual way to make a clutch hub tool is to bolt an inner and outer clutch plate together and then to a piece of tubing to form a handle, or to bolt an inner plate to the tubing.

It also helps to have an air or electric impact driver to get the nut off, they can be on pretty tight. I don't know the particulars about the Climber motor to know if you'll need to pull the entire left-side cover, maybe someone with experience with them will know. I'd guess that the answer is yes.
